Urban Dances from Africa, Empowerment, Dance & War along with Migration are the thematic focal points of this year’s edition of the Potsdamer Tanztage. The productions Matière(s) Première(s) by Compagnie Par Terre / Anne Nguyen from Paris and Filles-Pétroles by Nadia Beugré from Montpellier/Abidjan will be focusing on African urban dance culture as well as power struggles in society from a female perspective. War and lost homeland are the focus of Losing It by Palestinian choreographer Samaa Wakim and Every Minute Motherland by Polish choreographer Maciej Kuźmiński. With these and other choreographic works from Canada, the Ivory Coast, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Sweden, the festival will mirror the crises and hopes of our time.
