Performing arts outdoors is something everyone hopes for this summer. Always geared towards its Berlin Wedding neighbourhood and the city, the AUSUFERN (literally: “bursting the banks” or “getting out of hand”) festival is yet again expanding its social-choreographic radius and showcasing numerous outdoor formats. In “Wovon träumst Du jetzt?” (What are you dreaming of now?) by Lea Martini, Daniel Almgren Recén and Nils Plambeck, one passenger in a delivery bike each can listen to an artistically recorded polyphony of Berlin people and discover his or her individual sound experience in the urban landscape. Martin Clausen and Katrin Hentschel will provide interested people of all generations with a space to reflect on their connection with culture, nature, society and themselves during the performance walk “Stadtmaus/Landmaus” (City Mouse/Country Mouse). Those who prefer to linger with the dance community at Uferstudios may try out (circle) dances from different cultures combined with contemporary dance practices right in the courtyard. Other highlights include sculptural fusions of club culture, concert and dance performance by Sandhya Daemgen and Martin Hansen, and site-specific performances by bachelor’s students from the Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin (HZT).
