Who does not know them, the small, magical protagonists from children’s books like “Alice in Wonderland” or “Nils Holgersson”? At eye-level with animals and mythical creatures, they dive into adventurous fantasy worlds. The violinist, performer and co-founder of the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Daniella Strasfogel, has now also invented a loophole for the very youngest viewers and their families: Schrumpf! Musik&Theater&Tanz in Klein adapts or: “shrinks” existing “adult” productions for children, such as “On A Clear Day” by choreographer Milla Koistinen. The original version, which will be resumed at the same time, as well as the transformation version, “Schrumpf! Koistinen”, the piece, which premiered in 2017, can be seen at the end of April at Ballhaus Ost. In a space-enveloping and gently hypnotic kaleidoscope of dance, sound and light, inspired by works of the Canadian painter Agnes Martin, imaginary friends can move about freely – very close to or at a slight distance from the artist Koistinen.
