Ballhaus Naunynstraße has reason to celebrate
Since 2013, Black artists have helped shape the profile of Ballhaus Naunynstraße. The works presented have generated numerous ideas for the dance and theater scene — which was recently honored with the 2023 Federal Theater Prize. Ballhaus Naunynstraße is now celebrating ten years of Black Perspectives and will once again present exceptional performances in November and December: Following the successful solo piece Becoming My Body, Bishop Black, a British performance and drag artist, is venturing their debut as a director with the work Flight of the Canaries. Dancer and choreographer Lois Alexander will inaugurate the dance series Wie ich werde wie ich sei will (How I Become How I Want to Be) in December by presenting a new solo work; the second work in the series will be developed by choreographer Magda Korsinsky and performed in mid-December.
