A nationwide dance triennial will take place for the first time in 2026. The Federal Cultural Foundation will realise this together with a strong municipal partner and aims to make current trends in contemporary dance visible, attract new audiences and facilitate professional exchange within the field. A particular focus is on bringing together the various dance scenes that have recently become more differentiated - from urban dance to contemporary aesthetics and classical ballet. Cities from all over Germany can now apply to host the Tanztriennale.
