TanzArchiv Berlin: Website and Access Point Tanz: Mapping

Published in February 2024

Emerging from the Round Table Dance, the two teams TanzArchiv Berlin and Access Point Tanz / Tanzvermittlungszentrum are making their work visible with important digital offerings.

TanzArchiv Berlin: Website
The TanzArchiv Berlin team published a website on February 1, 2024: Since autumn 2020, the team, which emerged from the Round Table for Dance, has been working together with dance professionals and institutions to develop a living archive about and for dance in Berlin. The website now offers an insight into the documentation of the conception and pilot phase for the emerging TanzArchiv Berlin and also creates an open and multi-perspective virtual space for negotiating and discussing the concept of the archive and archival practice in and for dance.

Access Point Tanz: Digital Mapping of Dance Offerings
Access Point Tanz is pleased to announce the publication of the digital mapping of dance programmes throughout Berlin. Whether in dance schools, neighbourhood centres, sports and cultural clubs, youth or senior centres - the variety of places and styles is impressive and shows how deeply rooted dance is in the social fabric of the city. And this is just the beginning: as resources allow, the map will be expanded, updated and activated with different formats. There are now also two new texts on the website documenting the 2023 pilot phase: On the workshop Dismantling Barriers for a Better Work Culture In Dance Making & Dance Mediation and on the first network meeting of dance mediation entitled Access Check. Enjoy reading and browsing!
