Final Choreographies by Graduates of the MA in Choreography
This year’s graduates in the MA Choreography program at the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz (HZT) will be presenting their final works in May and June: Pooyesh Frozandeh presents Saving Flowers, a performance that focuses on the human being in the midst of an absurd collage full of contradictory truths, while Tim Winter’s Outside Inside explores the permeability and elusive nature of bodies. Everyone here is a bit of a horse by Vera Shchelkina is a work about domestication, subjugation and hierarchical structures between humans and animals, and SUR – Echos aus dem Süden [SUR – Echoes from the South] by Felipe Fizkal embarks on a search for contemporary ritual expressions and subcultural practices from the Global South. The work MANNA by Diana Naber explores the transformation of bodies and materials – between glacier melt and birthing room, the performers negotiate empathy, dependency and the fragile boundary between care and threat. In July, there will be further final works by Johanna Jörns and Zsombor Szabo. (jw)
