Touching, and Being Touched
Begüm Erciyas Presents a Berlin Premiere at Radialsystem
What have our hands been doing? Who or what have they touched and will they touch in the future? As part of the Conjunctions – Acts of Being in Relation program series, the Berlinn and Brussels-based choreographer and molecular biologist Begüm Erciyas will present the work Hands Made, inviting us to rethink our relationship to our hands. The audience will be asked to observe their own hands and those of the people sitting next to them, and to envision the role of their hands throughout history and in the future – a thought-provoking reflection on manual labor, the sense of touch, and physical contact in an age in which our touch is increasingly mediated by technology.
