The Volcano within us

In Anger Management, Swiss-American choreographer Joshua Monten and four dancers work together to explore the emotion of anger in all its facets. The motif of the bubbling, glittering volcano that lies dormant within us serves as a springboard and propels the dancers into an impulsive choreography that oscillates between loss of control and liberation. Inner feelings assume an external form, vast amounts of energy are unleashed and floodgates of anger are opened - but the way we cope with anger is also considered: How can we reduce tension, set boundaries and express our most pressing needs? Anger Management is an attempt to render anger into something visible, tangible and accessible using dance. (jw)
