Sisterhood as a Place of the Future
Lea Moro Celebrates a Berlin Premiere with a New Work at Tanzfabrik
Lea Moro, a choreographer who used to call Berlin home (she is now a dramaturg at Tanzhaus Zürich), is returning to the capital with a new work, Sechs Schwestern (Six Sisters), an encounter between the performers Emmilou Rößling, Lau Lozza and Minh Duc Pham. While their hands are in constant motion with ropes hanging from the ceiling, they talk to themselves and to each other, reflect on happiness and work, dream of the future and oscillate between despair and hope. In reference to Chekhov’s Three Sisters (first performed in 1901) and in the process of knotting and unknotting, they reflect on the search for love, the longing for community, and ask questions about a new form of community: sisterhood.
