The Kick-off of this Year's neworks Series at ada Studio

Dancers SueKi Yee and Giorgia Bovo grew up hating and rejecting pink, because pink is a symbol of everything feminine: delicate, graceful, beautiful. But isn't the rejection of femininity also an admission of patriarchal structures? In We hate pink!, SueKi Yee and Giorgia Bovo want to liberate the color pink from the shackles of decades of appropriation as a symbol of dubious definitions of femininity. Using a blend of dance, theater and lecture performance formats, they playfully challenge the way femininity is perceived and cultivated. The 2025 neworks series at ada Studio features the motto WEITERARBEITEN (“WORKING ON”) and provides artists with the opportunity to continue the research they have begun and transform it into a full-length performance.
