A Parable in Dance Form at the Theater an der Parkaue

In a normal city on a normal day, chaos suddenly erupts: a rhinoceros races through the streets, then a second – until finally the entire population itself is transformed into rampaging rhinoceroses. Inspired by Eugène Ionesco's The Rhinos, choreographer and director URSina Tossi transforms this timeless classic into an expressive dance piece. Featuring a haunting language of movement and integrated audio descriptions, this piece evolves into a parable about the insidious seduction of totalitarian ideologies. In times of growing right-wing extremism and fascist movements in Europe, this metamorphosis serves as a powerful warning: What happens when everyone else falls in line, leaving only one person standing?
