Ixchel Mendoza Hernández Celebrates a Premiere at Radialsystem

Mexican choreographer and dancer Ixchel Mendoza Hernández will be presenting her new work, A Scenario Of A System Off, at Radialsystem. Together with dancers Chihiro Araki and Angelo Petracca, she attempts to understand what happens when linguistic and social systems of order are destabilized. Repetitions, shifts, and sound loops transform seemingly mundane situations into poetic enigmas. The three dancers move between visible and invisible beings, while swathes of fabric form permeable spaces for light and projections. The result is a transformable scenario that conceives of the imagination as a political and aesthetic tool, transporting the audience into a world where meanings remain fragile and perception itself evolves into choreographic practice.
