37th Edition of the International Tanz im August Festival

In 2025, the Tanz im August festival will once again be welcoming international contemporary dance to Berlin: Kim Sungyong and the Korea National Dance Company will be creating a misty scene in which movements appear like fleeting memories. Munich choreographer Moritz Ostruschnjak will be utilizing pop-cultural wit to translate digital gestures and viral movements into a physical collage. Brazilian choreographer Lia Rodrigues will present a dance manifesto for a world in which borders do not divide but connect - and Berlin-based Ligia Lewis, in collaboration with the Cullberg Company, will paint a dystopian-utopian scenario beyond national narratives. As always, there will also be many other world premieres and guest performances, accompanied by a diverse accompanying and dialogue-filled program. (jw)
