ada Studio Celebrates its 19th Anniversary

ada Studio will be celebrating its 19th birthday with ada19 – Navigating Obstacles, Celebrating Companionship – marking almost two decades in which an incredible 1,345 artists and 497 performance evenings have left their indelible stamp on the studio. But what about the many artists who first presented their work here and later simply faded into obscurity? What does the lack of appreciation and disinterest in the twists and turns of (artistic) careers say about our society? Over the course of two evenings, the focus will be on five artists who have had a significant impact on the studio: Rike Flämig, Raisa Kröger, Lee Méir, Maria Walser, and Akiles. They will celebrate their joint creative work, research, failures, and progress—and thus the legacy that dance leaves behind in their careers. (jw)
