Federal Cultural Foundation: Programme "Zero" - climate-neutral art and culture projects

The climate impact of art is still largely unexplored - but many cultural actors in Germany would like to make an active contribution to overcoming the climate crisis. In addition to dealing artistically with the crisis itself, cultural institutions as well as cultural workers and artists are increasingly looking for instruments and methods to align their own actions with goals of ecological sustainability in a comprehensible and effective way. But how to start? Where do we stand? What are the decisive levers that need to be moved as quickly as possible? With its "Zero" programme, the Federal Cultural Foundation is inviting cultural institutions of various disciplines to participate in a nationwide sustainability initiative that will address the issue in three different modules: Firstly, in the open application project funding in the "Zero Fund", secondly with further training and qualification measures in the framework of the "Zero Academy", and thirdly with a transfer of knowledge in regional network meetings for the whole of Germany. The Federal Cultural Foundation is providing a total of 4 million euros for the Zero programme until 2025. More information can be found here.
