In 2020, Jo Parkes will be working on a project exploring the idea of "hope".
The project begins with a series of free movement workshops with Jo, Vivian Defazio and Kaveh Ghaemi for anyone aged 9 - 99 on Monday evenings from 18.00 - 20.00 at FELD theatre on Winterfeldplatz from January 6th to March 30th.
Anyone interested in exploring this theme in movement is welcome - with or without experience of dancing. If you want to be part of the group just come along. You can join us at any time in the process and do not need to attend all sessions.
The workshops are free.
The first workshop is on January 6th 18.00 - 20.00 and from there we will dance on most Mondays until the end of March.
Address: FELD Theater, Gleditschstr. 5, 10781 Berlin
If you have any questions please email mobiledanceproducernoSpam@gmx.de or just come along to a session and talk to/ move with us in person!
How can we work to generate hope? Can we do it alone or do we need a group? Where in the body is hope located? What physical activities help to generate hope?
Does hope need to be performed?
“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all.”
“...I learned that hope is not something that you have. Hope is something that you create, with your actions. Hope is something you have to manifest into the world, and once one person has hope, it can be contagious. Other people start acting in a way that has more hope.”
WORK OF HOPE is a Mobile Dance project in partnership with FELD Theatre funded by the Norbert Lammert Foundation.
