IX. International SoloDuo Dance Festival
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
May 19th – 21st 2017, Cologne
Deadline: 30 November, 2016
Solo choreography (max. length 6 min.) and duo choreography (max. length 9 min.)
from Germany, Israel, Turkey and Europe!
For the 9th time, Barnes Crossing hosts the annual festival SoloDuo NRW + Friends 2017 in Barnes Crossing’s Studios for Dance|Performance|Finearts in D-50999 Cologne, Industriestr. 170.
There is no age limit and no minimum length of the pieces. Max length of a solo: 6 minutes, of a duo 9 minutes.
Renowned choreographers, as well as newcomers in the independent dance scene are invited to take part in this international competition. After a pre-selection the artistic directors will invite maximum 24 productions to perform in the festival program.
Members of the international jury will lead a roundtable discussion offering valuable feedback to the participating dance artists. Past participants described the evaluation as very beneficial for their artistic development.
The international jury will award prizes for Best Solo, Best Duo, Best Young Artist´s Solo, Best Young Artist´s Duo and Best Dancer.
The awarded productions will be invited to the XIXth International SzólóDuó Tánc
Fesztivál of Budapest in January 2018.
The festival covers accommodation for one night/team at the festival hostel and covers the travel costs (details see application form). The festival does the light design for your performance (basic + 1 special for each production), our light technician will do the light. The festival offers photo and full length video documentation of the performances for free. Fee cannot be offered.
